Nothing beats the butterflies-in-your-stomach feeling of lining up with hundreds—and sometimes thousands—of other runners at an early-morning start, hearing the gun go off, and racing through a picturesque city, trail, or coastline with spirited spectators cheering you on along the way. The USA is witnessing a massive increase in the participation in Marathons that take place on the Fourth of July every year.
So, to make things easier for you, we have gathered a list of several cities and towns hosting various Marathons this year on Independence day.

Welcome to the 39th Annual 4th of July Run hosted by Larned Civic PRIDE Organization, Inc! We host 4 events divided into 8 age categories. Medals are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for each age bracket and in male and female divisions.

2) Freedom 5K Fun Run - 9th Annual
Join us on July 4th for our 9th Annual Freedom 5K Run for the Wreath Fun Run at Heritage Park. Bring out the whole family and don't forget to tell all your friends!
Main Street Gardnerville has partnered with Wreaths Across America to honour all 218 Military Veterans laid to rest at Garden Cemetery. This year $5.00 from every registration will go towards purchasing a wreath for these Veterans.

4) Run for Glory 5K
Streator's Run For Glory is a friendly and fast 5K, starting at City Park in Streator, and running through quiet neighbourhoods. The course is flat and fast, with 2 small hills, and the course is an out and back route. The 5K Run For Glory kicks off Streator's awesome 4th of July celebration. Nice trophies for 1st overall Male and Female finishers and for the first place Streator male and female finishers. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each age group. Water on the course at 1 and 2 miles. T-shirts for all entrants. Walkers are welcome. Delicious fruit and beverages after the race. It's a fun family event! The Streator Run For Glory 5K is a Starved Rock Runners Club 2022 Circuit Race.

Join the Waldron Fitness Center sponsors the 2022 Independence Day Celebration 5k & Fun Run.

-The race will begin & end at Old Town Fields in Shawsville.

6) 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run- UC Celebration July 4th 2022
The UC Celebration - 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run are here! Your entry benefits Standley Park. Courses start and finish in the grass field east of Swanson Pool at Standley Park. The 5k course is two loops around Standley Park and Standley Middle School along sidewalks, paved areas, and grass athletic fields. The 1-mile course is a loop around Standley Middle School.
*You can pick up your bib a day early on July 3rd from 5-7 pm at Standley Rec Center,
Registration and Bib collection open at 6:30 AM on July 4th.

7) WTOL River Run 10K & 2-Person Relay
Take part in Downtown Toledo’s premier Independence Day 10k run tradition with a prize purse totalling $4,500, plus free Saucony shoes to all first place age group winners.
Start at beautiful Promenade Park on Summit St. and finish at the WTOL 11 studio on Water St. This counter-clockwise route is scenic and challenging to runners of all fitness levels, crossing two downtown bridges and running along the renovated waterfront and Toledo Metropark. Join us to celebrate America’s birthday and wear your red, white and blue.
Split up the 6.2-mile course by running the 2-person relay with a buddy. The first runner will take on 3.6 miles and the second will complete the final 2.6 miles. Handoff at the entrance to The Docks, then take the short walk across the Martin Luther King Cherry Street Bridge to watch your teammate finish on Water St.
